We hope to inspire students from diverse backgrounds whose unique life experiences will bring valuable strengths and important perspectives to our classrooms. Preference may be given to applicants from populations currently underrepresented among our educators based on sex, race, religion, nationality, geographic origin, immigration history, first generation college status, childhood socioeconomic hardships, as well as those with a disability or other unique challenge or life experience. This is not an academic scholarship, but the committee may reference GPA and class rank when deciding between otherwise equally qualified applicants.
