Gym Shoes for Needy Students

Getting a Good Workout

For several years, the Alpine School District Foundation has provided gym shoes and socks to needy secondary students. Because some recent donations, we are now able to offer this program to ALL of our schools.

An administrator, counselor, or P.E. teacher notifies the Alpine School District Foundation
of a student’s need, and the shoes are purchased and delivered to the school.

The Foundation never knows the recipient’s name or other personal information,
and the educator gives the shoes to the student privately.

Many junior high and high school teachers contribute to the Foundation Gym
Shoes fund through Payroll Deduction.

Thanks to district employees who support the Gym Shoes Program! No student
should “sit out” of P.E. for┬álack of suitable shoes.

The Foundation has received anonymous touching letters of thanks from students
who can now be a part of their P.E. class. This school year has shown much activity in the Gym Shoes program, as many students have been in need.
